Always Playing with Paper #7

This is my favorite card of the day.  I just love the swallowtail stamp and how perfect it looks when it's embossed.  This is my submission for Always Playing with Paper #7.  The card stock used is from Michael's, with the exception of the mini butterflies.  Everything else is Stampin' Up.  Hope you like! <3 JEM

Merry Monday 109 - Flowers at Christmas

I've finally started working on my Christmas card stash again.  I need to build this up so that I'm not frantically making cards in December - which is always so busy with concerts and family - and this year there will also be a child...  So anyway, this card is my submission for Merry Monday 109.  This was the only thing remotely Christmassy that I had that was flowery.  I think it worked out okay!  The kraft card stock is from Michael's, the ink, stamps, and embossing folder are Stampin' Up, and the ribbon, white card stock, green paper, and glitter is from my friend.  <3 JEM

Mojo Monday 346 - 2 tone birthday card

Happy Saturday to you all!  This is my submission for Mojo Monday 346.  I've started making long/tall cards because I have a lot of envelopes to use up and they are all of the long/tall variety!  The white card stock in this card is from Michael's, the green and purple from Stampin' Up, the stamps, embossing folder, and ink are also Stampin' Up, the buttons are from a sewing project I never made, and the ribbon and glitter glue is from a friend.  Hope you like! <3 JEM

Paper Players Challenge #196 - Flowery Birthday Card

Good Morning!  I've decided to head back into challenge land.  This card is for The Paper Players Challenge #196.  It is a commissioned card for a birthday (obviously!).  Behind the card is the envelope (I just realized that it might look like it's part of the card - it's not!).  I just wanted it to stand out from the blanket I took the picture on..  Oops!  Anyway, about the card.  Pretty much everything here is Stampin' Up.  However, I had some card stock from Michael's that pretty much perfectly matches the new Stampin' Up coastal cabana paper, so I was pretty stoked about being able to use that!  So yes, the card stock is from Michael's, and the glitter glue is from a friend, but other than that - Stampin' Up.  The stamp I used for the blue flowers is from a set my mom had purchased back in 2001!  Still making the rounds :)  Anyway, I need to get my butt to work, so I hope you all have a wonderful day!  <3 JEM

Baby Thank-You Cards

Hello!  I decided to be ahead of the game, got inspired, and made some thank you cards for when our baby is born.  We are decorating the nursery in yellow, gray, and white, hence the colors for the card.  I wanted to do something really simple in case I didn't make enough and had to do more later.  Everything here is Stampin' Up (well, except the card stock, which is from Michael's).  So yeah, question for all you moms out there -- how many thank you cards did you go through after your baby was born?  <3 JEM

Mother's Day 2014

Happy May Long Weekend, everyone!  I'm so glad to have an extra day this weekend - and today has been sooo productive!  Of course, part of being productive is updating my blog -- and boy, it's been a while.  I wanted to share the cards I made for Mother's Day this year with you.  I found the neatest idea on Pinterest where the envelope is the card, and I was sold.  I love being able to use pretty double sided paper and get to feature both sides :)

I'm pretty sure everything contained in these cards is recycled in some way, except for the stamps and ink.  The double sided paper, flowers, and glitter glue is from a friend, the white paper is from some recycled paper at work, the brown from our wedding photo display, the green from an unused journal calendar, and the yellow from a friend.  I love the embossing powder here, too.  It was the very first thing I purchased related to stamping - probably close to 14 years ago!  I love the multiple shimmering colors in it. :)  Hope you like them - I'll be updating a little more regularly now, and hope to participate in some more card challenges, too!  <3 JEM
