Card Making Night

Hey everyone!  Just wanted to share the cards that we made at our get together last Monday.  It was so good to see the ladies again!  I love the new paper used in this first card.  It's white with a glossy pattern on it, so you can color it however you want to reveal the pattern!  And I just noticed how not straight mine is.. whoops... :)

I really like the layering on this card, and how it makes the tree look larger.  We used a punch for the ribbon, so we could slide it through the paper.  I wasn't a huge fan, as I didn't like the direction my ribbon ended up going.  Oh well!

This card uses those amazing new butterfly thinlits from Stampin' Up.  I'm so in love with these!  You can't tell from this picture, but the butterfly paper is iridescent, so it's got a little sparkle to it.

Another card with the butterfly thinlit.  Just makes me want to go play in my craft room!  <3 JEM

New Home Box Card

Good afternoon, everyone!  I thought I would sneak in a quick post before the baby wakes up!  This is a card I made for my sister and her boyfriend, as they just purchased and moved into their new home.  The card is really cool, because it's a box card!  You can layer images and create little scenes.  I've seen some really neat ideas on Pinterest.  Everything here is Stampin' Up, except for the white paper, which is from Michael's.

This is what the card looks like folded up.  It easily slips into a regular card envelope.  So fun!  I will hopefully post the photos from our card making night the other day soon! <3 JEM

Dessert Concert Fundraiser

Hey everyone!  Hope you had a wonderful weekend!  We've had crazy temperatures here lately - today it was 10 degrees Celsius.  In January.  I took advantage of the sunshine by, you guessed it, baking bread.  Ha!  Anyway, you're probably here for the cards, so I'll tell you about them. :)  Every year the choirs I accompany have a dessert concert fundraiser, complete with silent auction.  This year the event happens to fall on February 14th.  Awwww...  So as my donation, I made this set of thank you cards.  They were really easy and I think they turned out quite sharp!  Ink, colored card stock and stamps are Stampin' Up, and the white card stock is from Michaels.  Ooh, and I'm really excited, because tomorrow night I'm getting together with some ladies for a card making night!  I'll be sure to post our creations..  See you soon! <3 JEM

Happy New Year!

Hey everyone!  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a great start to your 2015!  We had quite the holiday experience over here.  First Baby M got sick with what was diagnosed as a staph infection on Boxing Day (meaning we had very little sleep over Christmas), and then on New Years Day hubby started feeling ill and was diagnosed with hand, foot, and mouth disease.  Which was what Baby M actually had, and what I was succumbing to as well.  So we are just ending the week of quarantine - yay!  Also, my hands were so bad I didn't get any crafting in until 2 days ago...  Anyhoo, here's what I've made recently.  All ideas from Pinterest, of course.  This card idea is from Mary Fish.  We gave it to my parents after they took Baby M for the night so we wouldn't die of exhaustion.

I really love this stamp and have seen so many amazing ideas of what to do with it.  I'm looking forward to more experimenting!

Of course, after Christmas with a child comes writing thank you notes for the gifts!

And finally, sent these out to family and friends for the January birthdays.. LOVE feathers :)  Anyway, time to get supper on the table!  <3 JEM
