Fresh Birthday

Good Morning, everyone!  I'm so excited that it's Easter Break and my hubby is home for a week!  This is my submission for Freshly Made Sketches #179.  The green card stock is Stampin' Up, but from my mom, so it's probably from back in 2003?  I have no idea what "color" it is.  The black is from a friend, and the patterned paper is from an anniversary gift from my hubby a couple of years back.  The ink, sentiment and framelit are Stampin' Up.

I was actually going to make two versions of the card you see above, but I decided I didn't want to break up this piece of card stock, so I just mounted it onto the card base instead.  A quick and easy card to make, especially if you don't know when the baby is going to wake up!  Hope you like them! <3 JEM

My First Quilting Class!

Hey everybody!  On Saturday, I took my first quilting class.  I found this little store in our town that offers classes, and I'd always wanted to try quilting because I think they are so beautiful.  This class was called 'Quilt as You Go', and you made an Easter themed table runner.  It turned out to be more of a placemat size, but still looks nice.  It definitely wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be!  I still made sure to take my time so it would look nice.  I learned so many things, too.  I handstitched the binding when I was done, but I guess I will have to learn machine binding as it really bothered my hands.  Hope you like it! <3 JEM

Playing Around

Good afternoon!  Just thought I would toss out a few cards I've been making in my spare time.  This first card was one I saw on Pinterest and really liked, especially the use of browns for Christmas.

These next three cards are from a past Stampin' Up catalogue.  I had decided to go through my catalogues and make the sample cards shown with the stamp sets that I had purchased.

I always have issues making friendship cards.. I guess I just don't use them very much.

These cards I just love (even if they do say 'Happy Holidays' - just reminds me of the old song).  I was sad to use my last piece of this in color green card stock, but now with the new specialty designer series paper where you can color it any shade you want - I can still have this beautiful color around. Yay! Anyway, hope you like! <3 JEM
